Algorithm Oracle is a digital ritual (hosted at algorithmoracle.cargo.site) that reimagines the ancient I Ching through the lens of modern stochastic data consumption. The system operates via three binary dice, executing a precise sequence:
(0) the user formulates a question; (1) the first roll converts binary data to decimal to determine the scroll count; (2) the second defines the platform (Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts); and (3) the resulting video serves as the oracle’s response.
This web platform functions as a "digital altar," providing instructions and open-source 3D files for decentralized manufacturing. Conceptually, the project interrogates the structural influence of code, rendering visible the authority that opaque algorithms exercise over human decision-making.
This project was selected as a finalist at the '24 Hour Creative People' event at OFFF Sevilla 2025. As a festival with a distinguished legacy and a leading reference in the global design community, OFFF provided a prestigious context to further expand upon the project's discourse.
